The Engineering in Africa Conference is a leading interdisciplinary and Pan–African conference on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) hosted by NSBE Ghana. It brings together policymakers, industry leaders, practitioners, academics, and other relevant stakeholders across Africa and the diaspora to critically reflect on the intersection between STEM and Africa’s socioeconomic transformation. The conversations at the conference inspire new thinking and renewed action in shaping Africa’s future through STEM.
The conference features inspiring keynote speeches, and engaging and empowering panel discussions. It provides participants with strategic networking and professional mentorship opportunities. Students and professionals are given the platform to present scientific papers and showcase their innovative projects and solutions. The conference further gives participants the opportunity to visit tourist and heritage sites with national, continental and global significance.
2023 is a particularly exciting year for the conference as it marks two important milestones: the 25th Anniversary of the founding of NSBE in Ghana/Africa and the 50th anniversary of the founding of NSBE Global (in the United States of America). The Conference is also held at a crucial time when African countries are recovering from the effects of the COVID–19 pandemic, and restructuring their economies to enhance their resilience against future pandemics. These countries are also reengineering their cities and critical infrastructure to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
